Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
In short: we collect what we need to run your account, answer you and do the work you ask for. We do not sell your personal data, and this website runs no advertising or analytics tracking.
1. Who we are
This policy covers roddytechnologies.com, Roddy and the Roddy Labs workspace at roddylabs.com. They are run by Roddy Technologies LTD, registered in Nigeria (RC 9385422), with its registered office at 5 Tetlow Road, Njemenze, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. We are the data controller for the personal information described here.
RShopRefill has its own Privacy Policy for its marketplace.
2. Information we collect
When you create an account
Your first and last name, email address, country and phone number, and your agreement to our Terms. When you set up your workspace you may add your organisation, job title, industry, company size and what you want to build. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from them.
When you sign in
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email or phone. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy of each code. Each time you sign in we record the time, your IP address and your browser and device type, so we can keep your account secure.
When you contact us
Your name, email address, company if you give it, the type of enquiry and your message.
When you use Roddy
Your messages and Roddy's replies, and any details you choose to share in the conversation. See Roddy below.
When we work with you
What we record in your workspace about your project: discovery notes and requirements, proposals, quotes, project tasks and meetings.
Technical information
Like any website, our servers receive your IP address and browser details when you visit, and we keep records of activity on accounts, such as sign-ins and sign-outs.
3. How we use your information
- To run your account and the Services, and to do the work you ask us for. This is needed to perform our contract with you.
- To answer your enquiries and follow up on projects you discuss with us. This is in our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, or needed to take steps you ask for before a contract.
- To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and investigate problems. This is in our legitimate interest in protecting the Services and the people who use them.
- To meet legal obligations, such as keeping records the law requires or responding to lawful requests.
We do not send marketing emails, and we do not use your information for advertising.
4. Roddy
When you chat with Roddy:
- we store your messages and its replies, so the conversation can continue. If you are not signed in, the conversation is linked to your browser session; when you sign in, it moves into your account;
- your message and the recent conversation are sent to the AI service providers that power Roddy, so they can write a reply. If you are signed in, your name, email address and the workspace details you gave us are sent too, so the answers fit you;
- if you share contact details or describe a project, Roddy can record them so our team can follow up;
- if you ask to speak to a person, our team is emailed your name, email address and a summary of the conversation.
Please do not share passwords, payment card details or other sensitive information in a chat.
6. Cross-border transfers
Our team works in Nigeria and Cameroon, and some of our service providers process data on servers in other countries. When your information moves across borders, we take steps to keep it protected as the law where you live requires.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. We keep enquiries, conversations and project records for as long as we need them to serve you and to keep proper business records, or for as long as the law requires, whichever is longer. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, as set out below.
8. Your rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and the data protection laws that apply where you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to a use;
- give you your information in a format you can take elsewhere.
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To make a request, email hello@roddytechnologies.com with the subject "Privacy request", from the email address on your account if you have one. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
9. Security
We protect your information with measures that include one-time sign-in codes that expire after 10 minutes and are stored only as hashes, limits on repeated sign-in attempts and form submissions, and staff passwords stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach affects your information we will tell you as the law requires. See our Trust Center for more.
10. Children
Accounts are for people aged 18 or over, or the age of majority where they live. If you believe a child has given us personal information without a parent or guardian's consent, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
